On the fourth and final day of diving at Glasgow 2014, Tom Daley and Hannah Starling brought England’s medal total to ten, as the team topped the table with four gold, three silver and three bronze.
Defending 10m Platform champion Daley qualified in top position going on to improve his performance in the final, securing his gold with one dive still remaining. With two dives scored in the nineties and one over a hundred he finished with a massive 516.55 points, more than 80 points ahead of second place.
Also in action for Team England were James Denny and 14-year old Matthew Dixon who finished in sixth and ninth respectively.
19-year old Starling performed an impressive final dive in the 3m Springboard, to score 67.50 and secure bronze. Teammate Alicia Blagg gave the final her best shot but feeling unwell was unable to perform to her best and finished in seventh.
Also diving for Team England was Rebecca Gallantree who finished in tenth, just behind Scotland’s Grace Reid who performed consistently throughout the final to finish ninth.
