Para-swimming star Steph Slater was last night crowned Disability Sportswoman of the Year at The Sunday Times & Sky Sports Sportswomen of the Year Awards.
Winning Commonwealth silver at Glasgow2014, Slater went on to win an incredible seven gold medals at the IPC Swimming Champs.
Currently training in Rio alongside GB teammates Claire Cashmore and Hannah Russell, 23-year-old Slater accepted the award by video, giving an emotional speech to Sky Sports:
"I feel so honoured to have won the award. The others are at such a high level I am totally blown away. I feel so honoured and I want to say a massive well done to the other sportswomen. I would like to say a massive thank you to my mum, dad and brother too."
