Michael Jamieson and Brittany Horton claimed their second silver medals of the meet on day two of the Luxembourg Euro Meet.
Jamieson set a season’s best 1:01.96 – his fastest time since last year’s British International Swimming Meet in Manchester – to touch behind Germany’s Marco Koch (1:01.73) in the 100m Breaststroke final, repeating his result from the 200m Breast.
Loughborough University’s James Wilby joined Jamieson on the podium, clocking 1:01.97 for bronze, while another Loughborough swimmer, Richard Spoor, was fifth in 1:03.02.
Having finished second in the 100m Backstroke on day two in Luxembourg, City of Birmingham swimmer Horton claimed her second silver in the 200m Back.
The 16-year old finished in 2:15.30 behind Germany’s Sonnele Oeztuerk who set a meet record of 2:10.36.
Joe Elwood was the only other British medallist of the day, claiming 50m Backstroke bronze in 26.34.
Erin Robertson and Tazmin Pugh – both 15 years old – continued to impress with personal best swims in finals.
South Ayreshire’s Robertson touched fourth in the 100m Breaststroke in a PB 1:10.92 while Pugh clocked a PB 1:01.60 for fifth in the 100m Butterfly ahead of Carnegie’s Tain Bruce (1:01.69) in sixth; both claiming the scalp of Spain’s double Olympic silver medallist Mireia Belmonte Garcia.
