Double Commonwealth champion Ben Proud completed his golden double with a world class performance on the final day of the 2015 BUCS Championships in Sheffield.
The 20-year old Plymouth swimmer added to his victory in the 50m Freestyle with a dominant performance in the 50m Butterfly, claiming the title in a season’s best 23.63 to go second in this year’s world rankings.
Proud was one of nine swimmers to claim their second individual gold during day three.
Rachael Kelly completed the 50m and 100m Fly double with a season’s best 26.68 over the shorter distance while 200m Backstroke champions Natasha Hofton and Charlie Boldison both added the 100m Back titles with times of 1:02.44 and 55.49 respectively.
The 200m IM titles went to Sophie Smith (2:15.25) and Ieuan Lloyd (2:01.95) for their second golds of the meet while Kathryn Johnstone once again held off Scottish teammate Corrie Scott to add the 100m Breaststroke crown to her 50m title in a season’s best 1:09.35.
The men’s 100m Breaststroke title went to Ross Murdoch in 1:01.22 while Cameron Brodie clocked 1:57.93 to take the 200m Fly crown.
There were also final day victories for Aimee WIllmott (200m Fly), Becky Turner (100m Free) and Jack Thorpe (100m Free).
