Jazz Carlin completed a double at the Golden Tour Meet in Marseille with a commanding victory over 800m Freestyle.
The Commonwealth and European champion – who won 400m Freestyle gold on day two in France – clocked a season’s best 8:25.13 to take the touch by more than seven seconds from her nearest rival, Spain’s Beatriz Gomez Cortes.
It was a successful day for the National Performance Centre Bath group as Carlin’s training partners Chris Walker-Hebborn, Lizzie Simmonds and Michael Jamieson all made the podium in their respective events.
Commonwealth and European champion Walker-Hebborn clocked his first 53 second effort of the year to take 100m Backstroke silver in 53.84 behind France’s 2011 world champion Camille Lacourt in 53.74.
Simmonds also underlined her recent good form with a season’s best 1:00.37 for 100m Backstroke bronze, while Jamieson claimed his second medal of the meet with 100m Breaststroke bronze in 1:02.28 with teammate Andrew Willis sixth in 1:02.57.
City of Cardiff’s Chloe Tutton was the only other British ‘A’ finalist of the night, breaking 1:10 over 100m Breaststroke for the first time this season as she finished fifth in 1:09.69.
