Great Britain’s Womens Water Polo team have ended the 2015 European Games with a second win over Israel, placing 11th overall.
Bouncing back from a disappointing loss to Serbia the previous day, the team finished on a high beating Israel 10-5.
"Throughout the whole tournament they’ve all been absolutely superb" - Nick Buller, coach
Throughout the group matches Team GB displayed great signs of progression and fantastic determination, spirit and passion.
Although missing the top ten finish target, Team GB coach Nick Buller commented “We did superbly to qualify and this team has done brilliantly to be here”.
“I can’t fault the girls’ efforts. Throughout the whole tournament they’ve all been absolutely superb. They’ve all learnt from this experience and they will come back stronger. They should all be very proud of themselves.”
"We’ve shown we can score top goals against the top teams and the score differentials have been far less than in the past so that’s a real positive. We’ve got plenty to build on in the future.”
GB’s top scorers in Baku with 11 goals each were Dani Brazier and Grace Rowland.
