The 2015 British Summer Championships kicked off with a bang yesterday as three new British Age Group records were set on an exciting first day of racing in Sheffield.
Ellesmere College's Tazmin Pugh broke the first record of the day, setting a new 15yrs Age Group record in the morning's 50m Butterfly heats (27.35). She then returned to claim gold in the evening's final and broke again with 27.22.
Plymouth Leander’s Sam Dailley, who was awarded Most Improved Swimmer at the Arena League finals this year, secured his victory in the 13/14yrs 100m Butterfly setting an Age Group record with a time of 56.48.
Meanwhile 16-year-old Derventio swimmer Imogen Clark set the third Age Group record of the day in the 50m Fly, clocking a time of 27.39 to win gold.
Other highlights included impressive performances from Georgia Coates (City of Leeds), which saw her top the podium twice in the 16yr 200m Freestyle and then the 200m IM.
