World Championship bronze medallist Siobhan-Marie O’Connor will make her return to competitive action at this weekend’s Manchester International Meet.
The two-day event has attracted a bumper field of national talent, although O’Connor is the only one of the five British individual medallists from this year’s World Championships in attendance.
The 19-year old will compete in the 200m IM, 50m Fly and 100m Free in Manchester while University of Bath teammates and fellow international medallists Chris Walker-Hebborn, Lizzie Simmonds, Jemma Lowe and Jay Lelliott are also set to line-up.
Loughborough’s high profile sprint and distance groups are also due to compete in Manchester with Francesca Halsall taking on O’Connor in the 100m Free and 50m Fly and Liam Tancock, Rachael Kelly, Georgia Davies and Adam Barrett also representing coach James Gibson’s sprinters.
Kev Renshaw’s distance group include the likes of 2014 European medallists Roberto Pavoni, Molly Renshaw and Dan Fogg while 2015 European Games 400m IM gold medallist Abbie Wood – a newcomer to Renshaw’s squad for this term – will line up against double Commonwealth champion Hannah Miley in the long medley.
