European aquatics governing body LEN have confirmed the 2020 European Junior Championships for swimming and diving will take place in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The Aberdeen Aquatics Centre opened in 2014 and boasts a 10-lame 50m competition pool as well as full Olympic standard diving facilities.
British Swimming Chief Executive David Sparkes said: “We are excited to welcome the LEN European Junior Championships to the UK. This event will no doubt be the biggest competition athletes of that age group will have competed at.
“Aberdeen Sports Village will provide everything the athletes could need and I know we will see some excellent performances throughout the competition.”
The European Junior Championships is contested by female swimmers aged 15 and 16, and male swimmers aged 17 and 18 while the diving competition involves Group A (16 - 18 Yrs) and Group B (14 - 15 Yrs) age groups.
