Jazz Carlin smashed her own Welsh record to win her second gold of the 2015 European Short Course Championships on the final day in Netanya.
The 25-year old, who had already lifted the 800m Freestyle title in Israel, became just the third British swimmer – alongside Olympic medallists Jo Jackson and Rebecca Adlington – to break four minutes for 400m Free as she took gold in 3.58.81.
Hungarian pair Katinka Hosszu and Boglarka Kapas pushed the Brit all the way but Carlin found enough in the final 50m to take the touch by 0.03 with Hosszu second in 3:58.84 and Kapas third in 3:59.02.
Hannah Miley, who won 400m Individual Medley silver earlier in the meet, was sixth in the same final in 4:01.17.
Chris Walker-Hebborn was the second British medallist of the night, setting a British record for silver in the 50m Backstroke.
Having already won 100m Backstroke bronze in Israel, the National Centre Bath swimmer dived 0.01 seconds under Liam Tancock’s old British marker as he clocked 23.09 to tie for silver with Italy’s Simone Sabbioni behind Poland’s champion Tomasz Polewka (22.96).
Tancock was in action himself in the final session, finishing sixth in the 100m Individual Medley in 53.11, while Siobhan-Marie O'Connor came home in a PB 56.81 to finish seventh in the 100m Butterfly final.
