Synchronised swimming Rio hopeful Genevieve Randall has begun an exciting 2016 by diving in to the music scene, appearing on The Magic Gang’s bewitching new music video ‘Feeling Better’.
Bristol Central’s Genevieve was thrilled to be approached by the UK indie band to star in their latest video, in which she performs an improvised routine to their song, expressing the music with artistic moves in the pool.
Talking about her experience, Randall said: “I was very excited to be asked to take part in the music video as it was something a little different to what I am used to. The band had seen me in competition and enjoyed my routines and felt like I was the athlete performer for the project.

“The band sent across the track and then I talked through with the directors their visions and what they wanted to achieve. In the end the best idea was to improvise to the music, so on the day nothing was rehearsed it was all very natural. It was a lot like like the early stages of choreographing a solo routine.”
Genevieve has a packed few months ahead in this Olympic year, with qualification spots for Rio up for grabs in March, before competing on home soil in the LEN European Aquatics Championships in London in May.
Good luck Genevieve!
