The second leg of the Golden Tour ‘Camille Muffat’ took place this weekend in the French city of Amiens, with a Brits Aimee Willmott, Ross Murdoch and Robbie Renwick all in action.
London Aquatics Centre Performance Programme (LACPP) swimmer and 2012 Olympian Aimee Willmott kicked off the meet in style, winning bronze in the first event of the weekend, the 800m Free clocking in at 8.36.83.
Willmott went on to win two silver medals to add to her weekend’s haul, finishing second behind World record holder and 2015 World champion Katinka Hosszu of Hungary in both the 200m and 400m IM.
Robbie Renwick stormed to victory in the 200m Free in 1.47.94, with teammate Duncan Scott joining him on the podium in third place.
University of Stirling’s Charlie Boldison also won silver in the 100m Backstroke, finishing in a time of 55.85 behind Camille Lacourt of France, whilst Ross Murdoch grabbed bronze in both the 100m and 200m Breaststroke
The third and final leg of the Golden Tour is set to take place in Marseille from 4 - 6 March.
