City of Manchester and City of Liverpool were in dominant form as they won their respective groups of the Girls’ U19 Prelims 2016.
Both teams carry a 100 per cent record into the next stage after winning Groups A and B respectively of the Girls’ U19 Prelims at Liverpool Aquatics Centre.
City of Manchester finished top of Group A after wins against Caledonia (8-0), Exeter (6-2), Otter Futura (4-1), Cheltenham (11-2) and Mid Sussex Marlins (8-3) over the two-day competition.
Exeter and Mid Sussex Marlins grabbed the second and third Girls’ U19 Prelims 2016 qualification spots, drawing 5-5 with each other and defeating the three remaining sides to finish on seven points.
City of Liverpool played one game less than Manchester in Group B but secured perfect progress with victories over Northampton (12-0), Hucknall (3-1), City of Leeds (6-0) as well as a defeat of last year’s runners-up Otter (5-3).
Otter took the only other qualification spot from the group with victories over the other three teams.
The Girls’ U19 Qualification Round of the ASA National Age Group Championships 2016 will take place in Watford on 9 – 10 April.
