The British divers have won two medals in the first two events of the Beijing leg of the FINA/NVC Diving World Series.
Silver for the girls
Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson claimed silver in their first international outing as a pair in the 10m Synchro after scoring a total of 317.46. They saved their best dive for last when they scored 79.68 for their Inward 3½ Somersaults tucked, cementing their second place finish.
The pair only began training together in December, with their domestic debut as a duo in January at the National Diving Cup in Southend, where they picked up silver.
Delighted with their result in China, Couch tweeted:
Bronze for the boys
Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow won bronze in the men's 10m Synchro with a final score of 420.15. Their best dive was the Back 3 1/2 Somersaults piked which scored 85.32 points. Chinese pair Yue Lin and Aisen Chen maintained pole position throughout, with an immaculate set of dives to claim gold.
Laugher and Mears
Jack Laugher and Chris Mears finished in sixth place, behind the Ukrainian pair, with the Chinese duo taking gold. Both will compete in the 3m Springboard individual event tomorrow, where they will hope to improve on today’s performance.
