British Para-Swimming are returning to Glasgow for the British Para-Swimming International Meet which kicks off this weekend, and will be a vital competition on the road to the Paralympic Games.
The competition, which runs from 23 – 27 April at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, will be the only selection meet for swimmers to make the Paralympic team and will see athletes put themselves in contention for selection from their performances.
Olympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds will be hoping to smash it in the S6 Freestyle events, with the possibility of claiming her third S6 400m Free Paralympic gold in the summer if all goes to plan.
Fellow 400m Free specialist and Paralympic, World and European Champion Ollie Hynd (pictured above), will also be hoping to grab his place on the team to Rio, while Paralympic and World champion Jessica-Jane Applegate will be looking to continue her recent World record-breaking form.
Other names to look out for during the Champs are Josef Craig, Claire Cashmore, Tully Kearney, Jon Fox and Steph Slater, along with a host of other para-swimming champions.
