A team of ten young England Talent synchro swimmers headed to the small town of Alexandroupoulis in Greece to compete in the Mediterranean Cup.
With 26 countries taking part, including all the big players like Russia, Spain, the USA, Canada, and Japan, the 13 to 15 year olds knew they were on for a big challenge.
With the competition standard very high, the team performed well in the prelims securing 10th place (with eight of the final 12 places already reserved for the Mediterranean teams), and went on to hold that place in the final.
In the Duet competition, Isabelle Thorpe and Kate Shortman finished an impressive 12th place out of 22 countries.
Rebecca Richardson finished 19th against a tough competition field of 23 countries in the Solo event.
The figures event had 280 competitors, and England’s top performer was Isabelle Thorpe finishing 49th.
