Three days down, with two left to go, Britain’s swimmers have so far claimed a total of six medals at the World Short Course Championships in Doha.
In today’s action James Guy swam to a new 400m Free British record in qualifying, before smashing that in the final, touching in 3:36.35 for silver.
This near 4 second slice off the previous record was a well deserved late birthday present to himself, having celebrated his 19th birthday last week.
Britain’s sixth medal went to Siobhan Marie O’Connor, who claimed 100m IM silver in a time of 57.83, not quite matching her own British record set yesterday in qualifying.
Qualifying for tomorrow's finals were Chris Walker-Hebborn who swam the 50m Back in a new PB of 23.34, and Adam Barrett who'll compete in the 50m Butterfly.
The sad news for the day was that Fran Halsall has had to pull out of the rest of the championships with a shoulder injury.
