Lois Toulson continued her impressive start to the season by reaching the 10m Platform final in her first FINA Diving Grand Prix appearance in Gatineau, Canada.
The 15-year old City of Leeds diver, who has won the British senior and junior titles already in 2015, finished ahead of Canada’s Olympic 10m Synchro bronze medallist Meaghan Benfeito to place second in her semi final and book a spot in Sunday’s final.
Having progressed through the Prelims in fifth on 318.30, Toulson held her nerve despite the increased pressure of the semi-final and scored more than 70 points for each of her final two dives to finish on 311.60.
City of Leeds’ James Denny was the only other British diver to progress from the prelims on day two, scoring an impressive 400.30 to place seventh overall.
But the 21-year old missed out on a spot in the final as he finished fifth in his semi-final on 341.25, struggling to recover lost ground after dropping his second dive.
