Georgia Coates swam just 0.01 seconds inside her personal best to win her third gold of the British Summer Champs in the 16yrs 100m Free (56.69).
The City of Leeds swimmer went on to win her second medal of day three in the 16yrs 200m Breaststroke (2:29.37), closing in on Emma Cain’s commanding lead to take silver behind the Millfield swimmer who touched the wall in 2:27.18.
A delighted Coates, who heads to the FINA World Junior Champs next month, said: “I’m so happy, this has been my best British Championships so far. It’s great to know that I am on form, you never know what might happen in Singapore.”
Sam Dailley secured his third gold of the Champs in the 13/14yrs 200m Fly in 2:07.31 with Charlie Hutchison taking silver in a new 13yrs British Age Group record of 2:08.05.
The duo went onto produce equally strong performances in the 13/14yrs 200m IM, with Plymouth Leander’s Dailley winning medal number two of the night touching the wall third in 2:13.61, while Ellesmere College’s Hutchison set his second British Age Group record (2:11.64) clinching the gold medal.
Plymouth Leander’s Oscar Brain took gold in the 13/14yrs 50m Backstroke posting a time of 28.30 ahead of teammate Dailley who touched second to win his third medal of the night in 28.45.
